No, however if you were already running ML, and you had a Flash-storage based Mac that supported PowerNap, then it would likely be able to do so as part of it's ability to automatically download updates etc which are provided through the Mac App Store when in sleep.

You can read how to check it and fix it below. As you can see from this screenshot, old cache files are causing memory overload. The fix is to clear the cache, as the app from this example tells you to do. The easiest way to get rid of application cache at once is to use an app like CleanMyMac X for the job. Run a scan to find and remove the stuff you don't need, and there's a high change your apps will stop freezing after that.
A frozen app becomes unresponsive and brings your work to a halt. In the worst case scenario, it can lead to lost work or a corrupted file. Fortunately, there are several options to try, and most are quite simple.
First, you need to quit it. Then, if the app keeps freezing when you launch it, try the next options. Quitting and then re-starting an app is a good way for Mac OS to handle a crash. To force-quit an app from the OS Dock, follow these simple steps:. The app is instantly closed. Re-launch it and try again. If you prefer to work with the Dock hidden — or if the Dock itself is unresponsive — you can simply bring up the Force Quit dialog box to perform the same task.
When CleanMyMac spots an unresponsive app, a notification window with a Quit button pops up, so you could force-quit the app without rummaging around in its menu.
CleanMyMac keeps an eye on other performance issues, too, so if you'd like to get alerts like this one when anything goes wrong, download the edition of CleanMyMac X and give it a try. Install the app and click on the Optimization tab. You'll find the tool that finds Heavy Memory consumers on your Mac.
Note that if you have two timers running then the first expired timer will quit the app. Installed on MBA and it does work fully in clamshell mode, but only for 31 seconds.
Have to open and close it after 31 seconds to use it again with cover closed - for 31 more seconds. Fix this and I will love it. Didn't work at all for me when I shut the lid.
For anyone here because Life Hacker recommended it, this is a different app than the one they recommended. I would imagine someone there also posted a link to the dmg. This app wouldn't be too bad if it worked when you shut the lid.
But there's also no quick toggle. I downloaded this app after reading a recommendation on LifeHacker. The first time I tried it, it did stay awake while the lid was closed, but when I opened the lid, the computer went to sleep! I was really excited about the concept of this app, but it lost me within the first minute of use.
The developer, Limit Point Software , has not provided details about its privacy practices and handling of data to Apple. The developer will be required to provide privacy details when they submit their next app update. In case you cannot do the above methods for some reason, you can use the Activity Monitor app on your Mac to force quit the App Store app.
You will be asked if you would really like to quit the chosen process. The App Store will be closed on your Mac, and once again you need to relaunch it to see if it has been fixed. If force quitting the App Store did not help you fix the issues, then you can try deleting the App Store cache files. These files are used by the App Store to quickly provide you with content, and deleting these will force it to re-create these files which might help fix the issue.
When Terminal launches, type in the following command and press Enter. It will take you to the temporary folder of your Mac where the App Store cache files are stored.
